Our History – Dr Mychelle Whitewood.

Founder and Director of Utopia Health Centre and Water Temple Floatation & Holistic Health, Dr Mychelle is a highly experienced and fully qualified Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with over 28 years of expertise in the field. She is dedicated to promoting the numerous benefits of TCM and Float healing for maintaining overall well-being and addressing a wide range of health disorders and dis-eases. Dr Mychelle is passionate about supporting individuals in their healing journey, personal growth, and the pursuit of their life’s purpose. She is continuously studying and updating her knowledge to best support her clients.

Dr Mychelle practices with Acupuncture, Cupping, Gua Sha, Shiatsu, Herbal Medicine, Moxibustion and Food Therapy and has a wealth of knowledge to share. We also work closely with other Allied Health Practitioners who offer Osteopathy and Physiotherapy, Blood Pathology, and Lymphascial Reset Protocol as well as Movement Coaching. These holistic practices harmonize your body, mind, and spirit, promoting profound healing and balance.

Throughout her years as a practitioner, Dr Mychelle has observed that the most common issues individuals seek her services for are emotional or physical pain caused by stress or fatigue. To address these concerns, she believes in the power of float healing—a wholly natural approach that provides a sanctuary free from external stimuli, offering numerous benefits for one’s health and well-being.

Recognizing the need for a holistic approach to healing, Dr Mychelle expanded her practice by opening Water Temple in September 2017. This new venture emerged as a natural progression and extension of her commitment to assisting people in their healing journey. In November 2018. Dr. Mychelle was invited to speak at the Float Conference in China about the combination of Chinese Medicine and Float Therapy in which she received the award for “Best International Float Service” There she met her mentor, the famous Shoshana Liebner of Float Dreams. To share her knowledge, Dr Mychelle regularly talked on KissFM with Timmy Byrne and other guests as well as conducting monthly information sessions in which she and other allied health professionals gave talks and group support for various health subjects. She was also featured in the book “Floating in Quiet Darkness” by Glenn and Lee Perry. Her passion for Floatation Therapy now extends globally, Water Temple will continue to evolve offering insights, guidance, and support to individuals seeking a path to wellness.

After a dedicated 7-years, 7 days a week, Mychelle, with over 1,000 hours of personal float healing, knew it was time for a shift. After having personally supported thousands of people who floated at Water Temple, Dr. Mychelle decided to direct her focus towards support on a larger scale. In May 2024 , We made the transition from our physical location and Float Centre in Armadale, Melbourne to an online Float healing and Wellness resource hub to offer support to anyone who is interested in Float healing or is looking for ways to improve their wellbeing. Dr. Mychelle and the Water Temple Team is offering the knowledge we have learnt through blogs, customised individual support as and creation of programmes to support Float healing well as supporting the Float industry on a global scale by collaborating with others in the field.
